The
idea for the Museum was born on the plains of Africa, in the outback
of Australia, the snow of Siberia and Alaska, and in hunting camps
in numerous other locations around the world.
We
want you to be able to view some of the wildlife of the world in
Cheyenne, Wyoming, when otherwise it would not be available to you
and your children.

Located
at 1714 Carey Avenue in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the 18,000 square foot
building was originally constructed for use as a women's fine clothing and fur store. The Museum building has been totally remodeled and is fully handicapped accessible. A climate controlled 2,500 square foot vault is home to the Museum's collection.

The Dream Catcher Fund of the Nelson Museum of the West was created to preserve and promote our Western Heritage
and to support humanitarian efforts.
The Dream
Catcher Fund is the charitable arm of the Museum. It was established
in 2003 to provide emergency assistance funds to families and
neighbors in need in the spirit of the Old West.
